Responsibilities:
The purpose of the IT Security Analyst is to substantially enhance the effectiveness of the organization's information security program by preventing, detecting, analyzing, and responding to threats against sensitive information, networks and information systems. This role requires a significant degree of creativity, innovation, evaluation and constructive thinking to perpetually remain ahead of the latest threats and conversant with cutting edge methodologies for finding and disrupting them.
While this position doesn't directly manage the departmental budget or oversee direct reports, as the subject matter expert on threat hunting and cybersecurity incident management, the Analyst will mentor and assign tasks to the IT Security Administrators during investigations, live threat responses, incident response training exercises, and during the testing and refinement of security controls. The IT Security Analyst is a skilled specialist responsible for monitoring and enhancing network security systems on premise and in the cloud, providing support for security tools and services, spearheading responses to security incidents, providing clearly and timely reporting and communication on emergent threats, and conducting and coordinating internal red team penetration testing activities. This position is responsible for primary monitoring and review of logs on a wide array of systems including, but not limited to, Security Incident Event Management, Endpoint Protection, Early Detection and Response, Web Content Filter, Intrusion Prevention, Application Whitelisting, Cloud Application Security, Data Loss Prevention, and Firewalls, and maintains regular and active communication with managed services providers as needed. Coordinating and executing Red Team exercises using tools such as Kali Linux and meterpreter, the IT Security Analyst will proactively find vulnerabilities, assist in remediating these gaps, and refine overall incident response capabilities and practices.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing

- Ability to sit for extended time periods
- Sufficient manual skill for operation of PC keyboard and other standard office equipment
- Ability to travel, including occasional overnight travel
- Ability to exert minimum amounts of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects
Qualifications:
2-4 years of experience in the IT Security Field; 1-3 years of experience in cloud environments and solutions such as MS Azure, Office 365 online, or AWS
