We are a small concierge medical practice that specializes in primary care for adolescent to geriatric patients. We offer medical care both in the office and the patients' homes. We provide personalized high-quality care to our patients and require excellent service by our employees.
We are seeking a hardworking, responsible, pleasant, and thoughtful individual to join our team.
In this role you will:
- Have experience working in a medical office within the last 10 years
- Have experience working in customer service, administration, and patient-facing roles
- Strong critical thinking, comprehension, communication and listening, and writing skills
- Interact with a wide variety of personalities in a professional manner including interactions with other clinical offices, hospitals, and families
- Able to understand the patient’s needs, both the spoken and unspoken ones
- Bring a sense of urgency and thrive in an environment with a workload that ebbs and flows
- Respond appropriately using professional problem-solving skills to a wide range of patient inquiries
- Be a self-starter; able to coordinate resources and responsibilities independently
- Enjoy working independently and as part of the team
- Proactive thinker and problem-solver with an entrepreneurial spirit contributing towards growth in this position and the success of the practice
- Quickly learn the nontraditional approach to patient needs that is the basis of concierge medicine and incorporate those principles when scheduling patients or other patient communication
- Possess an ability and desire to grow as the needs of the position evolve
- Must have knowledge of proper grammar, spelling, and medical terminology
- Attendance and reliability are a critical component of this position, we do not have a large staff, and we rely on a strong attendance record.
- Ability to comfortably use Word and Excel
- Must be able to navigate an EMR. Familiarity with EPIC is a plus
Your Primary tasks are 65% front office and 35% back office, and can vary depending on the office flow.
Patient Facing Activities:
- Answering the phone, triaging messages, and patient scheduling
- Appointment arrivals, patient registration and insurance eligibility
- Guiding patients through the process of referrals and authorizations, and assuring that the patient has followed through
Patient Supporting Activities:
- Intake and submit medication refills
- Rooming patients, obtaining vitals, small office procedures, phlebotomy, and injections as needed.
- Generate and navigate patient referrals to specialists including those outside of the area
- Obtaining prior authorization for ancillary services, assist in scheduling tests and procedures, and locating appropriate facilities in and out of the area
Practice Supporting:
- Handle insurance matters, prior authorizations, and other insurance communications
- Maintain front office inventory and tidy surroundings during patient hours
- Work closely with the team to provide excellent seamless care to patients
- Prepare exam rooms between patients as needed
- Label and process lab specimens for courier as necessary
