Marine Electronics Technician Job Summary:
Under limited supervision, the Marine Electronics Technician (MET) will install, service, and repair electronic equipment onboard commercial ships, ferries, fishing boats, yachts, and pleasure craft. The technician will test, adjust, and troubleshoot components and/or antennas as well as, loading, updating, and modifying software. Marine Electronic Technicians utilize their knowledge of electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems. Technicians will make intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments. Upon completing the assignment, the technician will compose a detailed service report.

Marine Electronics Technician Requirements:
- 3+ Years of experience as a MET in the commercial shipping, fishing, or pleasure craft industry or acquired in the Navy, Coast Guard, or Marines.
- Associate degree or equivalent training and experience.
- Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application is required.
- Valid FCC General License with Radar Endorsement & GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License is preferred.
- Be physically fit. Work environment often involves carrying 20–50 lbs., climbing ladders and masts, and exposure to weather.
- Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
