Maintenance Technician
Overview: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a maintenance field. This team member will be responsible for adhering to all safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe and productive working environment. This team member is responsible for overall maintenance of equipment and basic internal structure of the facility. This position reports to the Plant Superintendant.
Competencies and skills:
· Understands math. Ability to use & read tape measure to a 1/16” scope, micrometers & calipers, and other measuring devices. Must have own hand tools. Larger tools will be supplied.
· Strong mechanical ability and knowledge is needed for this position.
· Prior experience as a technician, electrician, plumber, machine operator, or related field.
· Ability to read and write English. Customer Service: Able to build relationships among co-workers.
· Clear Communication: Able to follow both verbal and written instructions from Supervisor. Able to communicate clearly with co-workers.
· Able to withstand crisis situations.
· Able to stand/walk/work outside for variable period of time. Able to lift 50+ lbs.
· Able to work on elevated platform (up to 40 feet) and confined spaces.
Responsibilities:
· Measuring. Operating forklift, cranes, hoists, hand grinder, hand tools and power tools. Maintenance performed on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic & electrical systems.
· Utilizes manufacturer drawings, manuals, catalogs for repairs. Able to troubleshoot equipment and systems problems.
· Perform routine maintenance: Inspect, operate, or test equipment to diagnose any malfunctions, locate any damage, defects, or wear.
· Assemble, install, repair basic wiring and electrical components, basic plumbing, machinery, equipment or systems.
· Collaborate with Superintendent for any corrective action.
· Collaborate with Leadermen to ensure all maintenance logs are kept up to date.
· Clean /lubricate shafts, bearing, gears, or other parts of equipment. Replace worn, damaged or defective mechanical parts.
· Other duties as assigned to facilitate daily workflow of production.
