POSITION PURPOSE
The Server position creates legendary experiences for guests by effectively presenting food and beverage options in a personalized and enthusiastic manner. Servers focus their attention on guests in the dining room area of the sports bar.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Makes personal connections with guests through engaging conversation and creates a fun environment with an energized presence
- Supports team service by running drinks and food throughout the sports bar, paying close attention to pivot points/seat numbers
- Takes orders in assigned station according to steps of service
- Assesses guests’ needs and displays salesmanship by recommending items, upselling add-ons and customizations to enhance the guests’ experience
- Engages in teamwork to ensure their guests and their server buddy’s guests’ needs are met in a timely manner
- Utilizes point-of-sale (POS) system for food and beverage orders and payment transactions
- Diligently follows safety requirements and models behavior that protects them and others
- Checks identification to ensure guests meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages and complies with Responsible Alcohol Service
(RAS) procedures as defined by federal and state laws
- Stays current on all federal, state, local and company required training and certifications
- Quality checks food presentation, adherence to recipes and order accuracy, paying close attention to any noted special requests/modifiers and allergies
- Completes final presentation of all products, including adding celery/carrots and dipping sauces (e.g. ranch, blue cheese, etc.) to the plate up
- Pre-busses tables within assigned station and throughout the rest of the sports bar as needed
- Ensures guests’ needs are met during their visit including timely check backs, refills, ordering of additional items or other requests by the guest as required
- Busses, cleans and sanitizes tables and chairs according to company standards
- Properly resets tables for future guests
- Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required
- Minimum age to serve alcoholic beverages (per applicable law)
- Certified in any state, county, or local food handling and alcohol service requirements
Preferred
- Prior service experience; ideally in a high-volume, full-service restaurant
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires frequent standing, sitting, bending, reaching, moving, stooping, stretching, and lifting in a restaurant environment.
