The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for managing smooth operations related to multiple Oracle Applications Database environments running on Real Application Cluster.
**This position is onsite at our Livonia, MI HQ**
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support multiple instances (Production, Test, QA and Development) of Oracle EBS 12.2, Web Logic and Oracle database 19c.
- Support and implement high availability environment using Oracle Real Application Clustering, Oracle Access Manager (OAM), 19c Grid, RMAN, Parallel Concurrent Processing, Automatic Storage Management (ASM), Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).
- Familiar with Oracle EBS application functionality – Concurrent Managers, Responsibilities, etc.
- Familiar with Oracle rdbms RAC and EBS multi-node patching and cloning.
- Analyze and implement the physical database design and structure, ensure enterprise database environments are in optimal condition, manage production databases in Client environments, and support complex problem-solving challenges.
- Create and review physical data models, coordinating data security restraints and actively supporting test plans/environments, benchmarks and statistics.
- Improve the quality and reduce defects in all database environments and Application server environments by providing performance and tuning.
- Perform backup and recovery procedures using RMAN.
- Follow back up procedures to ensure the recoverability of all production data for operational and business continuation needs.
- Provide Level 3 and Level 4 application database administration production support to resolve complex problems
- Participate in the 24/7 on-call support rotation.
- Communicate, manage and monitor production Service Level Agreements (SLA) with local and remote users.
- Be point of contact between DBA Team and other IT teams (app support, development, server support, network support, IT Security, etc)
- Ensure sound database definitions, structures and documentation.
- Performs database Backup/Refresh and Recovery in support of business continuity.
- Proactively monitor, write complex scripts, do performance tuning, and troubleshooting for an environment that requires a higher support level. This position will assist technical staff in researching about patches/upgrades, identification/troubleshooting, and resolution of database issues, and work with database security & compression tools.
- Provides analytical and technical support and leadership around specialized software for database systems, developing database structures for applications, and related services such as job scheduling/automation & print/document management.
Assists clients and agency staff, application development teams, data architects, and business data stewards. This position is also responsible for the support and maintenance of numerous databases and services.
- Experience with doing Backup/Restore/Transaction Logs for SQL
- SQL Security management – User setup, role setup, etc,..
- SQL Job Agent/Maintenance Plans – This is scheduled tasks for a SQL server. Usually how backups and other jobs are started.
- SQL Server HA/DR (Clustering, Log Shipping, etc,..)
- SQL Server monitoring
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience in complex Oracle ERP environment.
- 5 years multiple lifecycle management for Oracle EBS implementation including high availability and disaster recovery management.
- Extensive Oracle EBS 12.2 implementation experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in backup and recovery procedures using RMAN.
- Experience with Oracle Applications technology stack, including architecture, installation, configuration, maintenance, cloning and patching procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.
- Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence and initiative without daily interaction with management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Oracle certification in EBS and/or Oracle database.
- Experience in implementation of Oracle SOA Suite, and Business Intelligence modules (OBIEE).
- Azure SQL Management
- Query Optimization/Performance Troubleshooting
- Upgrading SQL Servers
