Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Peer Specialist to join our team. Peer specialists provide supportive relationships with adults and/or transition-aged youth ages 14-17 in their recovery journey with mental health and substance use challenges. Peer Specialists meet with peers in the community and assist with a variety of needs including coping skills, relationship building, assisting with self-advocacy, and assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Support Plans that are person-centered. Must be able to: establish trusting, respectful relationships, communicate directly and understandably, exercise ethical decision-making skills, write accurately and manage a schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Offer guidance, support, and advocacy to individuals in navigating behavioral health services
- Utilize your own lived experience to inspire hope and promote recovery
- Conduct individual and group sessions focusing on coping skills and self-care strategies
- Assist in crisis intervention and management
Experience:
- Proficiency in mentoring individuals with mental health challenges
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques
- Experience in behavioral health or social work settings
- Familiarity with motivational interviewing and mental health services
- Understanding of support systems for individuals with mental health needs

Pay: $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
