Our Clinical Research Department is looking for a full-time Clinical Trials Recruiter / Assistant Coordinator to join the Central team!
Purpose: The Clinical Trials Recruiter & Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the screening of new patients in order to identify eligible potential candidates for phases II IV clinical studies for all locations. This position will establish, develop, and implement recruitment plans, and conduct thorough phone screens and in-person interviews discussing medical history to determine participant eligibility for the retention of subjects in clinical research at Texas Diabetes and Endocrinology. This will include the review of electronic medical records; provider schedules in advance of scheduled appointments; and new leads generated by advertising, referrals, or other sources to identify patients who might meet eligibility criteria for all active and enrolling clinical trials.
Key Functions include but are not limited to:

Responsible for developing phone-screening forms per protocol specifics. Performs daily chart
review on scheduled patients from the private practice to find potential subjects (prior to
patients being seen). -
Creates reports for finding potential subjects using electronic medical records system (EMR).

Completes proper enrollment paperwork associated with patient recruitment.

Organizes and maintain all records required for recruitment for all clinical research studies.

Provides backup coverage for Clinical Research Coordinators (CRC I/II/II/Lead) with taking
patients EKG’s, blood pressure, weight, drawing blood, and other vital signs. -
Reads and understands the protocol requirements regarding including proper collection,
processing, and shipment of specimens. Completes all paperwork associated with specimen
processing. -
Maintains OSHA standards on a daily basis for all exam rooms and laboratory.

Responsible for recruiting subjects for all current enrolling studies. This includes but is not
limited to: phone screening, patient chart review, radio, television, newspaper, and other
advertising. -
Maintains adequate supplies and a contact to resupply stock when necessary. Orders office
supplies and stocks exam rooms. -
Provides backup coverage for other Clinical Trial Recruiters and Assistant CRCs.
Additional Non-Essential Functions:

Trains new staff on recruitment protocols and techniques.

May participate in health fairs to promote education regarding osteoporosis and recruit subjects for clinical trials.

Education & Experience Requirements:
Minimum Required:
-
High school diploma or equivalent with at least 6+ months’ previous experience in the medical field as an MA, LVN, or similar role; or prior research experience
Preferred:
-
At least 1 year of experience in a MA, LVN, or similar role. Diabetes and/or Endocrine
experience a strong plus -
Previous experience in medical research a strong plus

Working knowledge of research methodology, medical terminology, and pharmacology

CPR/AED Certification

CCRC Certification a strong plus
