Job Summary – Counter Sales Associate/Keyholder
This individual will maximize sales by helping customers select and purchase merchandise, while following all company standards, policies and procedures. Assists store management by overseeing the sales floor and delivery area. Partners with store management to implement all corporate and store programs. Works with store staff to follow store merchandising standards and restock merchandise. This individual will be trusted to perform opening and closing requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform opening and closing procedures (i.e., opening cash counts, closing deposits, shift management, etc.) in accordance with MPEC policies
- Provide direction and give feedback to store management regarding staff performance
- Assist in the planning, preparation and execution of cost-effective events to generate sales
- Ensure highest levels of customer service which will result in increased productivity
- Maintain the highest visual standards, including displays, signage, lighting and counter areas
- Assist in the flow of merchandise from stock areas to the sales floor in a timely and organized manner
- Able to establish and maintain good relations with customers by providing courteous, efficient, and professional service.
- Maintain professional attitude, conduct, and appearance.

- Serve as a resource for general product knowledge to all customers
- Complete required training
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including customer service, housekeeping, stocking and merchandising, handling core returns, checking in and putting up stock orders
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge and experience in the Automotive Aftermarket
- Excellent customer service, communication and organization skills
- Must be completely reliable
- Professional attitude and ability to be flexible and handle change in a positive manner
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work flexible hours
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma, GED or Associate’s degree
- Minimum of 1 year of automotive experience
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and move merchandise of up to 40 poundsand occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Move engine blocks, core barrels, and other heavy equipment using moving aids designed to move such items, including hand trucks, barrel dollies, hydraulic lifts
- Bend or stoop to floor-level shelves and reach upper shelves with use of stool or ladder when necessary
- Stand and walk for entire work shift
