Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and as a team with the current accounting and other departments. Candidate will report directly to the controller and presidanet of a closely held corporation. As you will see from the job responsibilities and qualities listed below, this is a “wear many hats” type of position requiring an extremely organized, punctual, creative, reliable, loyal candidate with a strong work ethic that will enjoy working for an established, almost 40 year old Kentucky Corporation, 2 generation family business that is preparing for phase 2 of a large growth campaign in people, equipment and physical buildings. Must enjoy and tolerate run-on sentences.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Perform credit card reconciliations.
- Payroll and related activities and reports
- Monthly Use Tax Multi State reporting
- 1099/W2 and related activities & reports
- Cost Accounting/Inventory Management
- Cost Variance review
- Product Pricing
- Database set up and upkeep.
- Fixed assets and Depreciation schedules
- Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable experience
- Taxation and Auditing
- Maintain general ledger accounts.
- Analyze financial statements to ensure company compliance with GAAP guidelines.
- Complete Month-end and Year-end closing and procedures
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Conduct internal audits to identify potential errors or discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide financial analysis and support to management as needed.
- Utilize software (ERP) to record and track Financial/HR/Payroll transactions.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulations
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes through standardization or automation.
- Census returns and reports.
Qualities Desired in Successful Candidate
- Experience with ERP Oracle NetSuites
- Must possess advanced Excel skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Experience with financial statement preparation.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Financial acumen and understanding of business operations.
- Experience with double-entry bookkeeping
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Should possess good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Must be able to pass drug screening and criminal background check.
- Attendance: defined as having regular consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance. Candidate must maintain attendance at a level above minimum standards of employee handbook, due to the critical nature of this position while being able to maintain the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts on weekends, based on times of plant related emergencies.

- Industrial / Manufacturing accounting with accrual based experience preferred.

Salary: $30.00 - $55.00 per hour based on several factors including the candidate's education, work experience, specific job duties, certifications etc.

Schedule:
· 8 hour shift
· 8:15 am – 5:00 pm
· Monday to Friday
· Overtime as needed
