POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Accountant is a key member of the accounting department responsible for managing and overseeing various financial activities within the organization. This role involves maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Senior Accountant collaborates with cross-functional teams, provides guidance to accounting staff, and supports decision-making processes by providing accurate and timely financial information.
REPORTS TO: Controller
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Prepare journal entries during the month-end close process, including cash receipts, revenue recognition and ASC 842 lease accounting.
- Ensure all accounting transactions and accruals are properly recorded.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data. Resolve discrepancies and investigate any irregularities.
- Assist with annual audit activities, providing information to external auditors.
- Provide financial analyses as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA preferred.
- 5 years or more of related experience required.
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role, preferably within a complex organization.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics a plus, but not required.
