Technology Aspect
To establish a clear duty of care, Stellar Virtual and its affiliates require all employees to cover the costs associated with acquiring and providing the equipment (i.e., computers, internet service, telephone, home office setup, etc.) associated with virtual employment.
Position Overview
As a Secondary Teacher, focusing on Health, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality health education to secondary-level students in a virtual learning environment. You will inspire students to make informed decisions about their health and well-being, covering essential topics such as nutrition, physical fitness, mental health, substance abuse prevention, and sexual health. Essential Position Functions
- Develop and deliver engaging health education lessons to secondary-level students in a virtual setting.
- Design comprehensive health curricula that align with state standards and learning objectives.
- Create a supportive and interactive virtual classroom environment conducive to health education discussions.
- Utilize virtual learning platforms and technology to enhance health education experiences.
- Foster a culture of open dialogue, encouraging students to ask questions and explore health-related topics.
- Teach students about the significance of healthy lifestyle choices and their impact on overall well-being.
- Cover a range of health topics, including but not limited to nutrition, physical fitness, mental health, substance abuse prevention, and sexual health.
- Incorporate current health trends and research into curriculum development.
- Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills in relation to health-related issues.
- Assess student performance through assignments, projects, quizzes, and assessments.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help students meet learning objectives.
- Collaborate with other educators to integrate health education into interdisciplinary learning.
- Stay updated with developments in health education, wellness, and public health.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance virtual teaching skills.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff to share progress updates and address concerns.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

Previous experience teaching health education at the secondary level, preferably in a virtual or educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of health education principles, curriculum development, and best practices.
- Proficiency in virtual learning platforms and educational technology.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for virtual instruction.
- Passion for promoting health and wellness education.
- Ability to adapt health lessons to a virtual learning environment.
- Dedication to empowering students to make healthy choices.
Education & Certification Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Education with a specialization in Health Education is required.
- Valid Texas Educator Certificate in Secondary Grades, Health/Wellness Education is required.
