Warehouse Associate & Box Truck Driver for Pickup of Donated Items, in Solano & Napa Counties
Hours: 40 hours per week, Tuesday – Saturday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

THE ORGANIZATION
Solano-Napa Habitat for Humanity, Inc. (SNHFH) is one of 1,200 nationwide affiliates of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI). It is an IRS-designated 501c (3) California non-profit corporation which serves Napa and Solano Counties in the Bay Area of Northern California. Our retail store, “ReStore,” raises funds for our Habitat home builds.
The Warehouse Associate / Route Driver plays an important part in the ReStore achieving the mission of the ReStore, which is to:
· Provide a long-term, stable funding source for our Habitat for Humanity affiliate
· Reduce local solid waste disposal
· Offer a resource for community members to purchase inexpensive merchandise
· Position Description Warehouse Associate / Box Truck Driver:
Works under the direction of the retail store managers and donation route scheduler.
· Drives a 16-foot box truck to pick up donated furniture, appliances, and various home and business goods that stock the ReStore
· Assists in the store warehouse
Working Conditions The employee must be able to:
· Stand for extended periods of time on different floor surfaces.
· Lift and move up to 100 pounds, and move large furniture and appliances with proper equipment.
Responsibilities
· Picks up large-item donations on a scheduled basis within Solano and Napa Counties
· Must be reliable and trustworthy
· Coordinates donation pickups with Donations Scheduler and Managers
· Ensures that contributors receive receipts for their contributions
· Interacts with customers / donors and answers questions related to donations in a polite and tactful manner
· Ensures materials are picked up from donors on a regularly scheduled and timely basis
· Ensures donations fit within the ReStore guidelines of acceptable donations
· Ensures box truck and equipment is kept clean and maintained
· Has the ability to load and pack the box truck to prevent damage to donations
· Completes warehouse projects as assigned by Warehouse Supervisor
· Assists warehouse with receiving and processing donations at ReStore
· Assists with preparing merchandise for the store floor and removal / loading of sold merchandise
· Assists with customer service and merchandising
· Adheres to occupational safety guidelines as well as COVID-19 safety guidelines
· Reads and understands Operation, Procedure, and Policy manuals. Offers suggestions for improvements
· Follows policies & procedures established for the effective, efficient, and safe operation of the ReStore
· Is an enthusiastic ambassador for the Solano-Napa Habitat for Humanity

· Ability to evaluate and assess condition of acceptable donated merchandise
· Assess merchandise from donors, transport it to warehouse bay and distribute it to designated processing areas
· Stock store merchandise based on inventory and warehouse quality control
· Remove store merchandise and load into customer vehicles
· Train and support new employees or volunteers as they are on-boarded
· Ability to work on feet and manage multiple duties while maintaining daily responsibilities and safety rules
· Simple computer skills required
· Knowledge of furniture and appliances a plus
· High school diploma / GED preferred
· Previous warehouse experience a plus
· Current forklift certification a plus, or ability to become forklift certified
· Box Truck driving experience, minimum 1 year preferred
· Effective interpersonal skills working with volunteers and staff
· Exceptional diplomacy and tact when working with donors, customers, volunteers, and fellow staff members
· Ability to work effectively as a team member

Education and Training
High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 1 year of related experience required. A valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance is required. A clean driving record, criminal background check, and drug test are required. Need to be a certified forklift operator or able to become certified.
