Career Coach/Resume Writer – (P/T)

Services include fee-based resume writing, in-person and virtual career coaching, interview prep, cover letter writing, LinkedIn profile optimization, computer training, personalized job search strategy and resourcing; as well as grant-funded career workshops/programs. We are looking for individuals with excellent customer service, writing, presentation and strong computer skills (formatting in Word) who display enthusiasm for career-related subject matter. Experience writing/editing resumes/CV, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles is required. Recruiting experience a great plus!
Responsibilities:
- Onsite (in-person & virtual) career coaching appointments.
- Write, edit, design and deliver resumes (all industries & levels) on a deadline.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on current trends related to hiring, job searching, personal branding, resumes and relevant technologies.
- Participate in initial intake meetings to gather appropriate information.
- Effectively prepare clients for interviews via in-person or virtual zoom.
- Assist clients with job search strategies and providing resources.
- Work with career changers on career plans.
- Special projects and other duties assigned by Executive Director.
- Responsible for keeping accurate database of clients’ records.
- Demonstrated strong computer skills: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint. Ability to use Excel spreadsheets. Airtable or related database experience a plus.
- Handling confidential documents.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years’ experience reviewing, writing, editing resumes, cover letter, and LinkedIn profiles.
- Familiarity with resumes/CV’s for a wide-range of industries or desire to learn (healthcare, academia, pharma, banking, IT, sales/customer service)
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Small workshop facilitation or trainer experience a plus.
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal, communication and delivery skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Social media and databases (Airtable) a plus.
- Ability to work in a team, independently and manage deadlines and turnaround project load in a timely manner.
Job Type: Part-time, Mother’s hours (9AM-3PM), Mon-Thurs

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 24 per week
Work Location: In person
