Delaware County Community College invites applications for a full-time Custodian in our Plant Operations Department. General housekeeping duties: bathroom cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, trash removal, floor refinishing and carpet cleaning, plus other duties as assigned.
Openings on all shifts
1st shift - 6:00 am- 2:00 pm
2nd Shift - 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm
3rd Shift - 10:00 pm - 6:00am
Position is open until filled
Essential functions will include but not limited to vacuuming, strip old wax and apply new wax, and seal and buff floors; dust and polish furniture and woodwork; empty and clean waste receptacles; clean restrooms; wash windows and clean chalkboards as needed; assist in preparing facilities for special College events; perform other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate must have the ability to read and write and follow simple instructions; two years custodian experience in a school setting preferred; able to read and understand English; able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds of weight; able to work additional hours and some weekends as needed; third shift must have transportation (10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.); may be required to work on ladders or lifts.
