Job Purpose: Perform duties to repair and maintain tooling so that it executes to the required safety, quality, and production standards.
Job Description: This position requires the ability to:
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, etc.
- Disassemble and troubleshoot die and mold quality issues.
- Have the ability to make judgment calls on tool repairs.
- Be proficient with operating tool room equipment such as lathes, mills, surface grinders, drill presses, etc., used to perform the required work.
- Read all measuring tools (mics, calipers, indicators, scales, height gages, etc.)
Secondary Functions: Additionally, this position may require the ability to:
- Use forklifts and/or hand pallet jack.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance service of tool room equipment.
- Use welding equipment.
Specialized Training/Skills/Abilities Desired:
- Create and close out work orders.
- Have solid understanding of molds and/or dies.
- Have understanding of 5S and process improvement techniques.
Minimum Experience Needed:
- 2+ years of stamping die or injection mold experience.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks throughout the work day.
- Good communication skills.
