The Tax Systems Analyst/Programmer performs professional level tasks including computer software implementations, SQL database administration, and software integration. The position supports the Johnston County Tax Department in the analysis, design, development, and the maintenance of systems and software used for property appraisal and tax collection. Employee is responsible for software migration, analytical and needs assessment, assisting with selection of applications and programs with resulting work flow modification, and general computer operations. Considerable knowledge of information systems, system design and programming methods, and database operations. Work requires a broad knowledge of information systems, programming languages and standards, and an ability to interface and work with contractors, vendors, users, personal computers, servers, and various operating systems and networks. Work is characterized by its variety, complexity and confidential nature requiring considerable organizational skills and analytical ability. Work is performed under the general direction of the Tax Administrator and is evaluated through conferences, review of work products, and implementation of successful systems.
