An established company with a strong presence in the U.S. market, located in the southwest suburban area of Atlanta, is seeking an Automation/Robotics Technician to join their team. This position is available due to the company's growth in robotic installations for the assembly process. The working hours for this day shift opportunity are from 8:00am to 4:30pm, with the possibility of up to 10 hours of paid overtime per week. An attractive 401K plan with a 100% match to 5% is offered, along with a generous bonus potential based on performance. Relocation assistance is available as well. The manufacturing environment includes die casting, stamping, and the assembly process, utilizing Fanuc, ABB, and UR robots, as well as Allen Bradley PLCs. This role is considered to be Level III, requiring a minimum of 5 years of experience.
The Automation/Robotics Technician will be responsible for participating in the design of manufacturing cells, end of arm tooling, and fixtures, as well as the installation of automated equipment. This role encompasses mechanical, electrical, and facilities support. The technician will assist in configuring, testing, operating, maintaining, servicing, and troubleshooting robots and other automated systems used in production. The primary goal is to improve efficiency and prolong the lifespan of robotic and automated equipment.

- Work with pneumatics and principles of compressed air
- Work with hydraulics and principles of fluid mechanics
- Work with circuits from 120 to 480 volts and perform other electrical related tasks
- Assist in the construction of robotic equipment, collaborating closely with engineers
- Test robotic systems to ensure proper functioning before use
- Layout and installation of plumbing systems
- Interpret isometric drawings
- Use electrical test equipment for voltage and current readings and conduct ohm testing
- Install and program robotic equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with robotic equipment
- Repair robots and peripheral equipment
- Install air logic controls according to prints or schematics
- Troubleshoot hydraulic circuits
- Troubleshoot programmable logic controller (PLC) systems using computer
- Install, program, or repair programmable controllers, robot controllers, end-of-arm tools, or conveyors
- Utilize knowledge of fabrication equipment for maintenance tasks
- Operate robotics equipment and analyze equipment events
- Work closely with engineers and production team to achieve desired output
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair robotic machines, systems, and tools
- Train others on robot installation, usage, and servicing
Level I: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level II: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), two to four years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level III: Technical training certificates or associate degree, six to eight years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
