Summary:
The main function of a validation engineer is to lead the analysis, development, and validation subteam process across assigned vehicle programs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Define vehicle/buck requirements for assigned partitions.
- Lead test hardware reduction process for partitions.
- Take appropriate action on issues, lead recovery plan efforts as necessary.
- Support Supplier Validation process.
- Develop and maintain partition ADV Plan/Schedule.
- Provide ADV partition assessment for PDT/PIT.
- Provide technical leadership across platform groups
Required Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Math, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Chemistry
- Minimum of 2 years of post-graduation engineering experience
- Demonstrated excellence in communication and collaboration in a diverse team environment
- Ability to learn complex system functions (i.e. engine, transmission, electric propulsion (Drive units & RESS)) quickly
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority
Preferred Skills /Qualifications
- Experience with electrical, thermal, or chemical virtual modeling and simulation
- Willing to gain specific training from a variety of people / techniques
- Proficient with Inca and/or Puma
- Calibration and/or development experience
- Outstanding data-driven decision-making history
- Demonstrated analytical ability for unusual and difficult problems
- Familiar with laboratory operations and test equipment including engine/transmission dynamometers, load frames, power supplies, electrodynamic shakers, environmental chambers, test site controllers, continuous monitoring, fixture design/fabrication, test equipment/setups, and laboratory accreditation standards
- Experience with RESS (battery) durability and safety testing
- Working knowledge of Li-Ion Battery cell, modules, and batteries
- Experience in one or several areas: Battery Electric Vehicle Systems (Electric Motors, Drive Units, Power Electronics, HV Batteries), Vehicle or System-Level Calibration, ICE or Conventional Transmission Development or Validation, Instrumentation & Test Automation
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of reliability & durability calculations
- Demonstrated adaptability and ability to change with program modifications/updates
- Self-motivated to work independently

Pay: $35.00 - $37.00 per hour
