Job Description
Insurance Eligibility & Verification
· Verify Medicaid Eligibility, verify patient insurance coverage to ensure patient is eligible on the date of service.
· Review initial benefits, re-verification of benefits, and questions/clarification on benefits
· Knowledge of third-party payer requirements.
· Must be proficient in insurance verification process using on-line techniques.
· Follow up with patients until all information requested has been obtained
· Meet quality and activity standards set by the department
· Other duties as assigned and needed by the department
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
· 1-3 Years of Patient Registration or Insurance Verification experience preferred
· High school/GED
· Strong customer service skills
· Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office products
· Knowledge of third-party insurance plans
· Well-developed problem solving skills
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
Maintains compliance with HIPAA and all patient confidentiality standards
