Position overview: The Production General Laborer will be responsible for all tasks required for department efficiency. The Laborer will be assigned to any Production department, including Spray, Assembly and Metals.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain a safe work environment with a “safety first” mindset
· Follow all safety processes and procedures
· Operate power tools and hand tools to complete assigned tasks
· Assist with the fabrication and assembly of products in any Production Department - Spray, Assembly or Metals:
SPRAY:
Assist in the spray process of manufacturing trench drains and related products
Prep, clean and polish forms
Build and efficiently stack pallets with finished products (trenches and grates)
Prepare pallets for shipment
Contribute to the overall facility production goals on a daily basis
Other duties as assigned
ASSEMBLY:
Assemble and package drain and trench systems using a variety of hand tools
Contribute to the overall facility production goals on a daily basis
Other duties as assigned
METALS:
Perform daily and repetitive hand finishing operations
Assist in operation of the powder coating machine (loading and unloading)
Assist in fabrication tasks and quality control efforts for all metal parts
Other duties as assigned, such as minor maintenance tasks
Qualifications (for all departments):
· Must be at least 18 years of age
· Must have at least 1 year of manufacturing experience as a Laborer
· Dependability to report to work is a must
· Must be able to read a tape measure
· Must be able to effectively use a variety of hand tools
· Must be able to read and interpret simple shop drawings
· Bilingual (English and Spanish, both oral and written) is a plus
· Must pass a drug screen and background check
· Must be authorized to work in the United States
· Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license
Education (for all departments):
· High school diploma or GED preferred
Supervisory requirements:
· None
Competencies (for all departments):
· Ability to prioritize work tasks and multi-task
· Ability to withstand extreme temperatures (hot and cold) and outside elements
· Ability to stand/walk/crouch/bend frequently throughout entire shift (up to 10 hours)
· Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
· Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred
· Must be able to form advantageous work relationships with peers, managers and plant management
