The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing great food by following our secret recipes that set our chicken apart from all of our competitors. The Prep Cook will work productively in a fast-paced environment, needs to be "process and task oriented", and follow all health & safety/security procedures. Be reliable and fast-moving while following recipes.
Responsibilities
Follow the steps outlined in the DHC Training Program to learn new skills, duties, and responsibilities
Abide by the rules and direction given by the Restaurant Management Team
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
Communicate to their immediate supervisor when additional training, guidance, and practice is needed
Understand how each job responsibility impacts Guests, Team, and overall Restaurant Operations success
Work together with other Teammates to prep items on the DHC menu while following company recipes, safety procedures, and sanitary requirements
Communicate effectively with Team Members and Management to resolve any interpersonal issues as needed
Use specific kitchen machinery and equipment such as fryers, warmers, etc.
Ensure restaurant cleanliness daily by cleaning prep tables, sweeping and mopping floors, daily cleaning tasks, washing/sanitizing/disinfecting kitchen utensils
Maintain a neat and tidy appearance by wearing a uniform and adhering to the DHC Uniform Policy
Requirements
Current student or high school diploma or GED preferred
Must be at least 18 years old - current high school diploma or GED preferred
Ability to stand for long periods of time and work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to bend and stoop
Ability to lift 50 - 75 lbs. comfortably
Be able to work in close quarters and around heat
Positive attitude while performing all duties
Have a commitment to Guest satisfaction. Looks at Restaurant Operations from a Guest's point of view
Effective communicator with Teammates and the Restaurant Management Team
Excellent time management skills, performance-oriented and performance driven; understand performance expectations and are aware of performance results
Have reliable transportation to get to work
Have a telephone or other reliable method of communicating with the Restaurant Management Team and Teammates
