Summary:
As part of the HELP USA Financial Reporting team and working directly with the Director Financial Reporting, the Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst will be responsible for assigned reporting and accounting functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparing internal and external financial reports required by management, investors, and funding agencies.
- Assisting with the preparation of audit and tax schedules and complete work assigned related to annual financial audit and federal tax returns.
- Evaluating the quality and accuracy of submitted financial data, including issue resolution, if necessary.
- Assisting with the preparation of and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reporting packages.
- Assisting with accounting, reconciliation, and analysis functions for assigned entities.
- Developing, maintaining, and distributing ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed.
- Coordinating with various departments to obtain and validate support for regulatory agencies reporting.
- Assisting in preparing schedules for SEFA and other regulatory reports.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- Mix 5+ years of experience with BA or 2+ years with MA in Accounting and/ 7+ years if finance or other related field.
- Experience with at least one typical nonprofit financial system (Sage, Blackbaud, MIP, Great Plains, Netsuite, Lawson or Yardi) is a must.
- Experience with Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s.
- Detail oriented self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet routine and non-routine deadlines.
- Knowledge of partnership/property accounting and not-profit accounting a plus.
Scope/Accountability:
- Required to make a variety of decisions, some complex in nature, with concern for impact on others, but predominately affecting own area of control.
- Provides and implements workable solutions to business issues/problems with minimum referral to senior management.
- Operates largely independently in meeting defined business objectives and goals.
- Performs complex tasks and participates in complex cross-area/function activities.
- Conducts work planning, estimation, and prioritization to optimize performance of group/resources.
- Required to apply advanced analytical skills in assessing concepts/principles and alternative solutions.
- Manages effective internal/external client relationships within own area of responsibility and builds client relationships in the wider group or unit.
