A bit about the role...
The Store is yours – stock, team, labor, customers, serving, coffee, coffee and more coffee, all sit with you to own and develop! You will take accountability of the profit and loss for the store and look to maximize where possible. To add to the list, you will:
- Create a customer focused environment and you’ll have a unique skill for anticipating what our customers’ need
- Take ownership of all your controllable costs within your store through effective management of stock, labor, training and reward and recognition.
- Inspire the team to follow your lead and execute with excellence
- Be knowledgeable, confident, and accountable for all Costa products, after all it's not just amazing coffee we sell, don’t forget our teas, frostinos, seasonal ranges, flavorful foods and much more
- Ensure personal and compliance learning, including allergens, food safety, health and safety is up to date and executed to Costa brand standards across the whole team
- Ensure all aspects of staff deployment are executed effectively; manage daily and weekly labor hours in line with target
- Encourage a culture of excellence by working with your team to maintain high standards for health, safety, and cleanliness within the kitchen and across the store including food displays and refrigerators
- Hire, train, coach and perform corrective action for all team members
- Hold regular staff meetings to keep team members informed of company policies, procedures and changes
- Provide an excellent overall experience for every guest from the moment they enter our doors by properly preparing pre-made items, small wares, food displays, and condiments - every visit is an opportunity to make a great impression

A bit about you…
- Having the passion for coffee and people would just be the start of what we’re looking for (but that’s the obvious bit!). The other skills we would be looking for are:
- A leader with coaching experience, remember you are leading from the front!
- A commercial mind with the ability to think ahead and see the bigger picture, maximizing every sales opportunity
- A brand ambassador who ensures great attention to brand standards
- An ambitious character who wants to be part of our growth journey
- Ability to thrive under pressure and execute with pace
- Experience of managing and developing teams
- Steady progression in café management, including experience in both FOH and BOH
- Approachable in nature with a passion for quality and service
- A passion for delivering excellence in everything you do
- Present a professional image and display good communication skills because you will be talking to our amazing customers daily; display the ability to manage and resolve customer complaints within company policy and procedures positively
- Recruit, train, coach, develop and retain a highly capable team
- Have the courage to show your confidence, self-initiate, and build healthy and positive relationships with your customers, the team, and the community we serve
