Hill Transportation, Inc an industry leader in flatbed heavy haul transportation is currently hiring both entry-level and experienced Diesel/Trailer Techs to join our dynamic team at our Shepherdsville location. The ideal candidates will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of maintenance and repair for diesel engines and trailers. This is a hands-on position that requires the use of your own tools and compensation will be based on your level of experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and related components.
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
- Inspect and test engines to ensure proper functioning and performance.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair trailers, including brakes, suspension systems, and electrical components.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure trailers are in safe and operational condition.
- Utilize your own tools to perform maintenance and repair tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain and organize tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Accurately document all maintenance and repair work performed.
- Maintain records of inspections, parts used, and services completed.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding maintenance and repair tasks.
- Collaborate with other technicians to ensure timely and accurate completion of work.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in diesel engine and trailer maintenance and repair is preferred but not required for entry-level positions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment effectively.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Must have own tools required for the job.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
