Refugee Pre-Arrival Processing Specialist - Remote Position

The Refugee Pre-Arrival Processing Specialist will play an important role in completing pre-arrival processing responsibilities under the Reception and Placement (R&P) program. The individual will work directly with Bethany’s national HQ team as well as affiliate sites within the Bethany network to ensure quality services of the allocation and placement of refugees.
This position is expected to function effectively with moderate supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state licensing regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a backup for processing functions, including allocation meetings and determining the placement of refugees within Bethany’s network;

Assist in allocation meeting preparations, tracking, and case follow-ups;

Process assurance reports, case change updates, and reconciliation;

Utilize various databases including IRIS, ARS, WRAPS, and RPC website to import and export data related to refugee placement;

Maintain shared pre-arrival inbox, providing timely responses to inquires;

Ensure pre-arrival case biodata information is current, thorough, and accurate;

Maintain up to date subject matter expertise in R&P program requirements and PRM guidance, the impact of new requirements on arrivals, and identify gaps and process improvements;

Support BCS affiliate staff by reviewing and maintaining medical documents;

Process any case transfers from Bethany’s network to other national Resettlement Agencies;

Support BCS affiliates by notifying them of travel changes, re-bookings, handover requests and incidents;

Manage IOM travel coordination for all BCS R&P arrivals, including Advanced Booking Notices, deletions, rebooking, delays, and incidents;

Collect and submit documentation required by IOM, including ground transport forms, escort handover forms, medical plans, minor promissory notes and parental consent forms;

Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree social service, political science, or a related field of study from an accredited college;

Two (2) or more years of experience in Refugee Resettlement, particularly in the Reception and Placement (R&P) program, preferred;

Strong organizational and time-management skills; proven ability to prioritize and deliver on time;

Strong ability to work and effectively communicate with multi-cultural populations with diverse backgrounds;

Data management skills including collection, analysis and reporting skills, preferred;

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel;

Must be 21 years old with a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany. Must also pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage;

Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;

Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith and Mission Statement.
Salary disclosure for residents of Colorado, Washington, California, Hawaii, Rhode Island, Washington D.C. & New York: ($48,000-$53,000) base rate plus a 1-25% differential.*
