PREMIER PROTECTIVE PACKAGING is located in Walker, MI, we specialize in unique custom packaging applications using Polypropylene (PP) and Polyethylene (PE), Foam, Bubble, and Non-Woven Spun Bond Polypropylene (SBPP) protective packaging materials.
Our manufacturing technology utilizes state of the art, customizable sheet, bubble bag, die cut and laminating equipment that allows us to produce custom packaging.
We are looking for an experienced Machine Set Up Technician to join our team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Follows safe operating procedures and practices for assigned machines
2. Performs machine set-up and raw material preparation
3. Performs adjustments to assigned machines
4. Performs minor repairs to machines
5. Back up machine operator for all machines
6. Back up Material Handler
7. Verifies quality inspections to assure product meets quality standards
8. Verifies production quantities, time, and raw material usage
9. Performs new team member training
10. Maintains a clean and orderly work area
11. Provides leadership coverage in the absence of Team Lead
12. Assists with minor Human Resource items and policy enforcement
Job Qualifications:
1. The job requires knowledge normally acquired through the completion of High School or equivalent
2. Valid Driver’s license and ability to maintain forklift truck and bridge crane certificates
3. Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with team members
4. Follow work and quality instructions
5. Demonstrated comprehension of basic math skills, e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, etc.
6. Accurately use a tape measure
7. Mechanical aptitude
8. Must be able to independently resolve issues with a degree of creativity and latitude
9. Physical ability to lift, transport equipment and materials weighing up to 70 pounds as well as work in awkward positions requiring bending and twisting
10. Ability to read, write and speak English
Working Conditions:
1. Inside working conditions with exposure to hot and cold conditions
2. Work includes periodic exposure to fumes, odors, dust, noise and moving objects
3. Work includes exposure to hazards associated with electrical and mechanical equipment

The position is full time and offers, Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Time Off, 8 hours paid personal time upon hire, 9 paid Holidays, 401k Plan with employer match and employer paid Long Term Disability and Life insurance, after probationary periods are completed.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
