Position Summary
On a day-to-day basis, the Legal Secretary will primarily work under the direction of an assigned group of Attorneys and their teams to meet the needs of the Firm and its client’s. This includes maintaining team calendars and coordinating depositions and mediations, e-filing in state and federal courts in Texas, as well as in other states, docketing case deadlines in case managements system, reviewing and submitting invoices to accounting for payment, maintaining attorney specific case lists, and charts are also required.
Legal Secretary – Requirements
- Provide administrative support to multiple Attorneys.
- Perform e-filings in both state and federal courts. Experience with court filing procedures in other states is a plus.
- Maintain and organize client files.
- Coordinate and calendar depositions, mediations, hearings, and other events with clients, opposing counsel, and supervising attorney.
- Receive, place, and screen telephone calls as required. Schedule conference calls, and coordinate/ schedule travel.
- Calendar all incoming discovery requests, briefs, motions, and court appearances.
- Notify team members of upcoming deadlines by sending weekly reports.
- Draft standard pleadings, correspondence, and other documents.
- Aid other members within assigned teams whenever necessary to meet Firm and client needs. Organize and prioritize workload to enable and facilitate team effort to accomplish Firm and client goals most efficiently.
- Exhibit professionalism by recognizing and adhering to all Firm policies, including attendance guidelines, dress code, security measures, and confidentiality requirements.
- The ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work core business hours. Must have 2+ years of recent personal injury experience. Advanced proficiency in MS Word and formatting documents with a minimum typing speed of 55+ words per minute
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
