Job Title: VAS Lead
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Department: Warehouse
Reports to: Operations Manager
Summary
Responsible for overseeing and assisting on special projects in the warehouse VAS area.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Labor Management: Ensure that the temp schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are completed properly. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques in leading and supervising associates in shipper construction projects.
Operations: Supervise checking and unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product and picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with high level of efficiency. Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork, ensuring that all product is properly counted. Responsible for processing outgoing shipments via UPS and FedEx.
Quality: Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are complete and free of damage.
Documentation / Records: Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion. Compute and analyze daily, weekly efficiency metrics.
Inventory: Assist in physical inventories and cycle counts. Ensure the optimal utilization of space. Rotate product as appropriate.
Equipment: Ensure the efficient and safe operation of material handling equipment.
Safety, Sanitation, Security: Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining warehouse security and sanitation. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and in accordance with OSHA and other appropriate standards.
Communication: Act as a liaison between employees and management.
Other Duties
- Participate in cycle counts and help maintain inventory accuracy.
- Participate in time studies.
- This position requires that you assist other Tyler facilities in similar job functions
- Perform other related duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Qualifications
- Education (preferred level): High School Diploma
- Experience (minimum level of direct experience): Experience with leading a team required.
- Knowledge/Skills: Requires good judgment and decision-making ability. Communication skills, both oral and written, are essential. Simple math skills required. Experience with shipping and receiving operations is also necessary. Must be proficient in MS Office.
- Special Requirements: Must be able to work overtime.
Physical Requirements

- Must have the ability to lift and/or move office and warehouse supplies, shipments and equipment and files ranging anywhere from 5 – 50 lbs,
- Fine hand manipulation – typing, writing, may assist with packaging of items
- Must be able to place outbound calls and answer phones, talk/speak and listen coherently for a minimum of 8 hours
- Must be physically able to open filing cabinets and bend, stand, balance, stoop or twist as necessary.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen and hear on the phone for long periods of time.
- Vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision.
- Ability to walk around the warehouse to gather information (maybe frequent walking)
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours
