Overview:
PATCH, a leading organization dedicated to enhancing child care quality in Hawaii, is seeking an Associate Director to join our team. As an Associate Director, you will be responsible for supervising the PATCH management team in meeting the organization’s strategic and programmatic goals under all contracts, grants, etc. The position will also identify, develop and maintain programmatic opportunities that advance PATCH’s mission and enhance its strategic and funding goals.
Essential Duties:
- Supervises the PATCH management team, comprising of all Island Coordinators and Program Managers. Monitors the work of the management team for program compliance of all contractual and grant commitments, quality assurance standards and strategic goals.
- Works with major contracting or granting agencies and foundations to understand how the work impacts the early childhood education and care sector and how PATCH can programmatically address those needs best.
- Works with the Program Manager to review and implement programmatic policies as needed to ensure compliance with standards and goals.
- Review all programmatic reports to meet all reporting requirements of government contracts, sub-contracts and grants as required by the Executive Director.
- Support the Executive Director in researching grant opportunities and in preparing contract/grant proposals as needed, including technical assistance in identifying and contacting potential funding sources and providing assistance in reviewing and editing proposals for detailed programmatic, administrative, personnel, financial, budgetary, and contractual components.
- Ensure consistency of each PATCH office of implementation of programs and daily operations.
Other Duties:
- Establishes and maintains relationships with other organizations as it relates to
- PATCH’s strategic goals and public policies. Includes representing PATCH on various boards, task forces, councils and committees as deemed necessary.
- Responsible for managing resources towards the highest potential for return and sustainability.
- Responsible for the agency’s operations in the absence of the Executive Director.
Working Conditions: Usually indoors under regular office conditions.
Work Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Monday- Friday; duties may require overtime and weekend hours
Equipment Use: Computer and standard office equipment.
Mental, Physical and Communication Demands:
Requires relating to people in a friendly and professional manner with excellent management, reporting, and verbal and written communication skills. Requires working to establish processes and procedures in a timely fashion. Must be organized and able to supervise employees at all levels. Must possess a valid Hawaii driver's license with access to an insured vehicle. The employee is required to use their personal vehicle and must be willing to travel to various locations for meetings and events. Travel to the neighbor island and out of state occasionally as required.
Minimum Qualification
Requirements:
Skills and Knowledge:
- Reporting of programmatic performance related initiatives at the local and state levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, especially as it relates
- Excellent management skills and ability to be proactive.
- Extensive knowledge of the early childhood education and care sector and
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Education/Experience:
- Five (5) years of supervisory experience and three (3) years of administrative experience.
- Three (3) year experience supervising adult who work with children
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field.
- Minimum twelve (12) Early Childhood Education credits
- Experience managing staff to successfully deliver programs at the local and state level as a current level.
- Experience with performance reporting of programs at the local and state
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
