What do we do?
Our clinical multidisciplinary approach to care delivers the correct intervention to each and every patient, each and every time through various pain management procedures including injections, open surgical cases with general anesthesia, physical therapy, and psychological services. Our Providers focus on helping individuals improve functionality to restore a more meaningful lifestyle.
Behind the scenes are APC’s support departments which include areas like Operations Support, Pre-Service, Billing, Human Resources, Marketing, and Accounting. APC is seeking an individual who is eager to learn, develop, and grow in a role as a Registered Nurse.
Job Summary
This Registered Nurse position will coordinate the management of Chronic Pain patients treated with implanted Medtronic pain pumps.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (What You’ll Do)
- Facilitate the scheduling of pump medication, ordering, delivery, and storage for in- office refills.
- Prepare refill orders for physician signature.
- Manage care for patients with implantable pain pumps during intervals between office visits and medical refills. Answer patient questions and follow-up on patient concerns, track their care, and symptom management.
- Track inventory with all appropriate documentation required for controlled substances.
- Fill pumps and reprogram pumps according to established protocols.
- Access and address patient concerns, collaborate with physician and if needed reprogram changes as directed by physician or Nurse Practitioner.
- Review patient charts and assess documented plan of care for application of consistent best care practices. Assess current therapies and treatments provided to patients. Recommend alternative or additional services that may support better patient outcomes or overall addresses patient concerns.
- Responsible to ensure all actions taken and care provided is in compliance with state and federal code and that all necessary patient care is rendered as appropriate. Assure timely and thorough completion of documentation, assists with policy development, or updating as requested.
