The Public Safety Officer I will serve and provide for the public safety and protection of all Regent and CBN affiliates operating on campus.
Essential duties:
Operate the front desk of the Corporate Support Building as an Armed Guard.
Input, manage, and maintain the Genetec software including all profiles and information.
Issue visitor badges and ensure badges are returned once visitation is complete.
Record visitation of all outside guests in the Genetec software.
Verify and process all vendor access.
Provide initial computerized authorization/credentials to contractors.
Manage and maintain a daily list of employees who entered with no Access Control badge and report list daily to the Technical Divisions.
Issue vehicle decal information for all CBN employees.
Observe and report suspicious activity.
Perform routine campus building checks.
Respond to emergencies, protect people and property.
Interact with employees and guests providing assistance if needed.
Provide crowd and traffic control and courier services.
Qualifications:
Experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred
Qualification or the ability to obtain qualification in the use of firearms
Ability to maintain the department minimum standards, pass departmental physical fitness test, drug screening, and random urinalysis
Certification in CPR and First Aid or ability to obtain certification
Basic computer skills
Ability to operate a variety of equipment and telecommunications systems, including a department-issued radio
Possession of a valid driver's license and a good DMV record
Ability to meet and maintain mental, physical, uniform, and grooming standards
Ability to complete and maintain DCJS qualified Armed Security Officer certification (training sponsored by RUPD)
Candidates must have:
Ability to make effective critical decisions in emergency situations
Ability to multi-task and act independently with minimal supervision
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strength and excellent manual dexterity necessary to safely operate a firearm
Excellent agility with ability to lift up to 150 lbs. and walk/stand for long periods of time
