The Villages Charter School Autism Center (TVCSAC) will open to students and families in January of 2025.
DESCRIPTION:
The Villages Charter School Autism Center is accepting applications for a Receptionist. Applicants must complete The Villages Charter School online application. In order for the application to be complete, you must also include copies of all transcripts and resume.
Salary commensurate with experience, starting at $15.00 per hour.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
To contribute to the efficient operation of a school office by providing front-of-the-house support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The expectations include the following and other duties as assigned:

Greet all visitors courteously, determine their needs, and direct them to the proper person/location.

Answer the telephone, assisted by Secretary when needed. Use intercom by rules; for information, messages, and students.

Use effective, positive interpersonal communication skills.

Meet all incoming students and take care of personal needs to direct them to whom they need to see.

Sort all mail and put it in school mailboxes.

May record all absentees and tardies daily.

Assist with the clinic, attending to sick children, calling parents, etc.

Make sure machines are operable and ample supplies for the workroom are available.

Receives new materials shipped to the school and ensures prompt and accurate delivery.

Maintain significant knowledge of school rules, regulations, and procedures.

Run copies.

Log Parental Involvement hours.

Take messages, screen calls, attempt to address problems initially. If problem cannot be resolved refer to building administrator.

Maintains information on daily, weekly, monthly and annual activities.

Gives directions as requested.

Perform other duties that may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED.

Working knowledge of basic office procedures and the operation of common office equipment and machines including computer office application programs.

Three (3) years of experience as a secretary- preferred.

Computer skills required at minimum are Google Docs, Google Sheets, G-Mail, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

Additional or alternate qualifications to the above as the Board may find as appropriate and acceptable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is quiet.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The length of the work year and hours of employment shall be full-time for 260 days beginning on July 1. Benefits shall be paid consistent with the VCS policy. The length of the work year and hours of employment are those established by the Board.
EVALUATION:
The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of TVCS policy on evaluations of personnel.
