Job Title: Creative Art Therapist Position
BALANCE eating disorder treatment center, a premium treatment center in Manhattan, is seeking a highly motivated, passionate Creative Arts Therapist to join our expanding team!

The Position
An Creative Arts Therapist who is passionate about eating disorder prevention and intervention. Dedicated to helping clients of all ages at BALANCE with their mental, physical, and emotional health by incorporating art making into client’s counseling sessions.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitates or Co-facilitate individual and group therapy sessions with clients demonstrating knowledge of eating disorders and the principles and techniques of group therapy.
- Shows knowledge and understanding of individual patient and family dynamics in the early stages of treatment.
- Designs creative art therapy sessions or programs in consultation with clients or site administrators to meet client's goals and objectives. Gathers client information from sources such as case documentation, client observation, or interviews of client or family members.
- Completes all documentation including psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, progress notes and discharge summary maintaining compliance with the policies and procedures of BALANCE.
- Maintains appropriate and timely communication with referral sources and other significant contacts, conveying a positive professional image.
- Conducts individual sessions.
- Builds rapport with clients while conducting art therapy. Observes and documents client reactions, progress, or other outcomes related to the artistic process.
- Confers with other professionals on client's treatment team to develop, coordinate, or integrate treatment plans.
- Utilizes supervisory feedback to improve performance.
- Be on-call several nights a week, on a rotating basis
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Who You Are:
- Master's degree in Art Therapy or related discipline (dance, music) and 2+ years of related experience required.
- LCAT, LMHC, LMSW, LCSW, LMFT required
- Excellent skills related to social perceptiveness and active listening.
- Excellent critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills.
- Strong knowledge of psychology, therapy and counseling.
- Candidates who can teach Yoga are highly preferred.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
