Position Summary: The Carpenter for Design and Build plays a key role in commercial construction projects, responsible for executing carpentry tasks, reading plans and blueprints, taking measurements, and contributing to the design and build process. This position requires technical proficiency, commitment, English fluency, and the ability to travel extensively.
Responsibilities:
- Carpentry Work: Perform carpentry tasks according to project requirements, including framing, finishing, and installation of fixtures and structures.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret and accurately read plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to understand project specifications and requirements.
- Measurement Taking: Take precise measurements to ensure accurate execution of carpentry work and adherence to project specifications.
- Design and Build Contribution: Collaborate with design and build teams to provide input, ideas, and solutions for commercial construction projects.
- Technical Savvy: Utilize computer skills to access project documents, write emails, and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Commitment: Demonstrate dedication and commitment to project success by delivering high-quality workmanship and meeting project deadlines.
- English Proficiency: Communicate fluently in English, both orally and in writing, to effectively collaborate with team members and communicate with stakeholders.
- Travel: Travel extensively (approximately 50%-70%) to project sites, meetings, and other locations as required, with a valid driver's license.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in carpentry, preferably in commercial construction projects.
- Ability to read plans, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficiency in taking measurements and ensuring precision in carpentry work.
- Comfortable using computers for accessing project documents, writing emails, and communication.
- Strong commitment to project success and delivering high-quality work.
- Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively (50%-70%) with a valid driver's license.
