The Estimator is responsible for the production of various levels of estimates, tracking and reporting on the cost of the Project from inception through completion.
Tasks associated with this responsibility:
- Total cost estimating management for Project assigned.
- Provide all required estimating, Cost Forecasting for the assigned Project.
- Assist Planners and Designer's with the development of Project estimate for the assigned Projects.
- Review all Planner and Designer estimates for the assigned Project.
- Provide estimate comparison reports between the established Budget and The current estimate.
- Developed Project Budget, and Final Bid Estimates on behalf of the Project Manager.
- Develop professional services estimates for planning services, design services, Construction Manager services, and Project Manager services.
- Develop reasonable levels of contingencies based on "Risk Assessment" criteria.
- Review Planning, Design and Change Order estimates for assigned Project on behalf of the Project Manager.
- Review of all Claims for assigned Project on behalf of The Project Manager.
- Provide cost trend data for The Project Manager.
- Input all cost estimate data relative to assigned Project.
- Work with scheduling and accounting to maintain the Project cost.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university preferred.
- Must have five or more years of related experience (relative to industry) and/or training.
- Must be proficient using Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Must have experience with an established estimating software.
- Must work efficiently and handle many tasks simultaneously.
Skills and Competencies required to perform tasks:
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of organization.
- Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graph, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.
- Deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
- Work in various offices, tour construction sites and work with computer digitizer and other equipment.
- Ability to perform under pressure and evaluate situation and make accurate decision immediately.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and plan schedules accordingly.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to use general office equipment such as phones, copiers, and facsimiles.
- Ability to work at a fast pace.

- Ability to accurately type 45 words per minute.
