The United School for Autism is a private specialty school committed to providing challenging learning opportunities for students with autism. We are currently seeking multiple qualified Lead Teachers and Co-Teachers for our classrooms in grades 1-12 and young adult program for our 2024-2025 school year.
The primary role of our teachers is to facilitate a positive, individualized educational experience for all students while targeting lesson objectives that align with our mission and vision. All teachers are trained and mentored by our Directors of Education to ensure ongoing meaningful, effective teaching instruction and classroom management utilizing our direct instruction curriculum and ABA methodologies.
We offer opportunities for professional growth in a small, highly specialized school, with low student/teacher ratio (4:1 or 8:1, depending on the academic track) and collaborative team support.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate classroom instruction and small group instruction as aligned with our school's programming
- Support a positive and high-quality learning environment, while ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures, and state and federal laws
- In collaboration with our BCBA, implement, facilitate and collect data for individual student behavior programs
- Provide quarterly progress reports for all assigned students and conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences
- Communicate regularly with families to share successes, send event/project reminders, address needs, concerns, etc.
- Attend weekly staff meetings to collaborate on strategies for classroom, student and curriculum challenges, while sharing ideas to support a positive and effective learning environment

Licenses or Certifications:
- Valid State of Arizona “IVP” Fingerprint Clearance Card
Education:
- HS, Bachelor's or Master's, depending on position
Experience:
- Knowledge and experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques
- Understanding/experience with children affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Salary: $41,000-$57,000*+ (*salary and any applicable stipends depend on completed educational degree and professional credentials)
