As an Environmental Engineer with Pali Coast, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our landscape projects are sustainable and environmentally responsible. Your expertise will help minimize environmental impacts, promote sustainability, and ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Environmental Assessment: Conduct thorough environmental assessments to evaluate potential impacts of landscape projects on the natural environment.
- Sustainable Design: Develop and integrate sustainable design practices into landscape projects, including water conservation, waste management, and energy efficiency.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, including obtaining necessary permits and approvals.
- Mitigation Strategies: Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize negative environmental impacts, such as erosion control, pollution prevention, and habitat restoration.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed environmental reports, impact assessments, and compliance documentation.
- Design Collaboration: Work closely with landscape architects and other engineers to integrate environmental considerations into landscape designs, ensuring they are both beautiful and sustainable.
- Community Engagement: Engage with local communities and stakeholders to address environmental concerns and promote sustainable practices.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor environmental performance during and after construction, ensuring adherence to environmental plans and regulations. Provide regular reports on environmental impact and sustainability metrics.
- Innovation: Stay updated on the latest environmental technologies and practices, applying innovative solutions to enhance sustainability in landscape projects.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of California is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental engineering, with a focus on landscape projects and sustainability.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Los Angeles environmental regulations, sustainability practices, and green building standards.
- Skills: Proficiency in environmental assessment tools and software, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Availability: Flexibility to work on a project basis, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
