Program Description:
This role is part of a collaboration between San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) and local police departments. The program is designed to improve law enforcement response to community members experiencing mental health crisis. All offers are contingent upon an acceptable law enforcement background check.
Position:
This is a pivotal position in providing operational and administrative aid to the program. This role encompasses the supervision of daily activities of clinicians assigned to East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and San Bruno Police Departments.
Essential Job Functions:
- Monitor and ensure all clinicians possess valid and active clinical licenses required for practicing therapy in California.
- Participate in collaborative meetings with County, Community, and Steering Committee stakeholders as necessary.
- Ensure compliance of clinicians in conducting follow-up interactions with community members.
- Coordinate with Program Manager, designated Police Departments, and BHRS to fulfill communication, data, evaluation, and Quality Assurance requirements.
- Support the hiring, onboarding, and training processes for new hires in selected Police Departments.
- Ensure adherence to program guidelines outlined in the program contract.
- Facilitate ongoing training and development needs.
- Ensure unlicensed clinicians on the team are connected and receive required supervision towards Licensure.
- Assist designated Clinicians in coordinating time off and provide direct coverage when needed.
- Collaborate with Program Manager to address grievances and program-related concerns.
- Oversee service delivery to ensure appropriateness and maintain records in accordance with standards.
- Coordinate mandatory training sessions for clinicians.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and Zoom.
- Familiarity with procedures and issues related to mobile crisis intervention.
- Ability to foster strong relationships with community agencies and multicultural communities.
- Experience in establishing connections with psychiatric hospitals and community resources.
- Strong collaborative skills working with clinicians, law enforcement, and community activists.
- Comfortable making presentations to external organizations, agencies, and the community.
- Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in demanding environments.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a clinical team with strong interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related counseling field.
- Current licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist. If not licensed, must be registered as an Associate with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and eligible for licensure.

Education:
Experience:
- managerial administrative: 1 year (Preferred)
