The Responsibilities of a TMJ Craniofacial pain/Dental assistant Include but not limited to:
· Performing Full exam, (we train in house using VERY special techniques for specific treatments who is all very thorough)
· Greeting patients as they arrive and answering the phones. Occasionally, as we all do this to make patients feel welcomed
· Dental/TMJ Charting and Treatment Planning. We will train.
· Managing office inventory and supplies. (Checking lab cases in) Scheduling them to go out
· Communicating with dental supply vendors, mentors through training
· CRUCIAL-Building patient relationships, trust, and catering to patient’s health needs through our services in office.
· Checking patients out with POS terminal
· Emergency office phone for one week every 5 weeks (this IS compensated)
· Ensure that patients are comfortable in the dental chair
· Prepare patients and the work area for treatments and procedures
· Sterilize dental instruments
· Hand instruments to dentists during procedures and aid in exams (more medical based exams, we will train on site)
· Dry patients’ mouths using suction hoses and other equipment
· Instruct patients in proper oral hygiene/ TMJ care.
· Process x rays and complete lab tasks under the direction of a dentist
· Keep records of dental & TMJ Craniofacial treatments
· Schedule patient appointments
· Work with patients on billing and payment¹
· Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods

What Skills Does a Dental/TMJ Craniofacial pain Need to Have?
A successful dental/TMJ assistant helps ensure that a dental office works efficiently while providing a professional, friendly point of communication for patients, treatment planning and performing procedures to help get our patients to optimal health alongside our doctor. This is a team leader position and requires high level organization and hypervigilance in charting and patient care. Requirements of a Dental/TMJ assistant Include:
· REQUIRED Excellent phone and in-person communication skills. MUST be personable and thrive in a positive forward-thinking office.
· Organization, time management and multitasking abilities.
· HIGH LEVEL performance, as previously mentioned we are a very small team and each take on additional tasks, without any micromanaging
· An understanding of dental office procedures and workflow. (we will train TMJ)
· Computer literacy in basic applications like email and Microsoft Office.
· Ability to train and use new software.
· VERY STRONG patient care skills. We are hyper-focused on helping our patients in every step of the way throughout their journey to pain free living and optimal dental health.
Job Type: Full-time Mon-Thurs. from 8 am - 5 pm ( occasional Friday )
Salary: starting rate $21 DEO we hold a 3 month evaluation to make sure we are a right fit and continuing our training progress as a team member.
