Emblu is searching for a Finance Manager to gradually assume responsibility for providing managed accounting and financial services to multiple clients and interfacing between customers and junior staff. This role will initially oversee and be responsible for the timely completion of accounting activities including monthly close, payroll, timesheets, A/P & A/R processing, compliance, expense reporting, and B/S reconciliations. Over time, the role will expand to include FP&A activities, process development, and staff training. The ideal candidate is actively seeking a role with long-term growth, prefers working independently, and has a background in corporate finance, with specific experience in the Government Contracting industry, including basic familiarity of contracts. This is a fully remote position, with a flexible schedule, although availability during business hours is required.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate and assist with the timely close and generation of monthly/annual entity-level financial statements
- Perform General Ledger/B/S Reconciliations
- Provide oversight and training to junior staff
- Ensure critical accounting activities are completed in adherence with existing company and customer timeframes
- Create and update policy and process documents and company manuals as needed
- Conduct monthly and ad hoc financial analysis and assessments and generate reports to be submitted in response to supervisor or customer requests
- Lead and assist price proposals, including financial modeling and partner correspondence
- Perform general project control, including monitoring of funding levels and communication
- Support activities intersecting finance and contracts, such as responding to data calls, contract and modification review and/or generation
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement, and take the initiative to implement or support any green-light process improvement efforts to completion
- Identify areas to optimize accounting system setup and configuration
- Support financial statement audit requests and other annual activities such as compliance audits, incurred cost submissions, and agency specific audits
- Perform end of year review of budgets and support annual budget process and creation
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience and understanding of Government Contracting accounting, including price proposals
- Knowledge or experience of DCAA requirements, including incurred cost submissions
- Extensive Unanet experience, knowledge, and understanding
- Extensive accounting knowledge and understanding of general ledger accounting, including interaction of B/S and P&L accounts, accrual accounting, monthly and annual close, account variance, etc.
- 5-8 years of direct experience in the field
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Attention to detail and advanced organization skills
- Experience in customer facing roles, effective at interacting with a wide range of personnel
- Knowledge or experience pricing Government Contract proposals
- Ability to work flexible hours

- Proficient in MS Teams and MS Office 365 applications
PREFERRED QUALIFCATIONS
- Knowledge and familiarity using Quickbooks
- Experience training and/or supervising junior staff
- Interest and knowledge of optimizing efficiency through technology, financial systems and integration
- Quick learner and adapter who enjoys challenges, enjoys being self-taught, and strives to become more efficient and innovative by constantly learning new skills

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
