This position is for a 1st shift Production Supervisor

SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Production Supervisor is responsible for directing the activity on the production floor in order to meet safety, quality, cost, and scheduled objectives. A team leader who coaches and engages associates to achieve production goals. Has responsibility and accountability for daily production flow, quality, and bottom-line results. Employs problem solving and troubleshooting skills to identify root causes and to take efficient action to resolve production issues.
Reporting Relationship(s): Reports to Operations Manager, Supervises Team Members for assigned areas
Duties include:
- Serve as an available resource to Line Leaders and production associates
- Review production schedules, material, and manpower resources daily to ensure associates allocated to given value steams maximize production objectives, achieve quality standards, and attain desired output results
- Responsible for communicating performance targets/KPIs to Line Leaders and production associates on a daily basis
- Evaluate production associates to ensure SOPs are being adhered to safely and consistently
- Provide consistent review of daily production records to ensure accuracy of documentation and guidance on any adjustments that are required to meet specifications. Compile applicable production records at end of day and submit to Sr. Production Supervisor
- Monitor Work in Progress and manage production flow to minimize bottlenecks, increase output, decrease costs, and improve yield
- Facilitate cooperation across departments within the facility
- Review and evaluate, continuously, production processes and procedures to identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Responsible for the oversight of quality of incoming raw materials to production floor, batch production, and finished product. Ensure quality of product meets and exceeds specifications and adheres to quality systems, processes, and procedures
- Maintain accurate production records, HACCP, and QA documentation to ensure that all federal, state, county, and company requirements are met
- Maintain and meet criteria set by SQF as it relates to Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP
- Evaluates condition of production equipment and communicates effectively to appropriate resources to rectify repair issues timely
- Meet and strive to exceed KPI measurements for assigned value stream responsibilities
- Facilitate a safe working culture environment, emphasizing the employment of safety measures and programs to ensure long-term safe operation and compliance with OSHA standards and regulations
- Assist in the onboarding of new hire associates, facilitating the training of new team members to decrease turnover and the necessary learning curve for successful contribution to the team
- Evaluate, coach, and guide associates in need of development. Employ progressive disciplinary action when needed
- Complete nightly production reporting
- Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities to team members and preparing staffing requirements to meet production schedule
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent manufacturing experience
- A minimum of 2 years of exempt-level supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Bakery or food manufacturing experience is preferred, in addition to knowledge of sanitation protocol in food production environments
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and GMP guidelines is a must, SQF certification experience is highly desired
- HACCP Certification
- Ability to direct and motivate the workforce to achieve desired output is a necessity of this position

Able to work flexible hours, including some weekends and extended shifts to support production as needed
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 3 plus years of exempt-level supervisory experience in food manufacturing environment is required.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and GMP guidelines is a must. The ability to direct and motivate the workforce to achieve desired output is a necessity of this position.
- The ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment is essential.
- Previous experience with high-speed packaging systems is highly desired. Knowledge of baking equipment highly desired.
SQF certification experience is highly desired. Sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment is desired.
