Overview: The Tucson Racquet and Fitness Club has been a staple in the Tucson community since 1967. We host 27 lighted tennis courts, 22 lighted pickleball courts, 2 heated Jr. Olympic sized lap pools, 3 sand volleyball courts, 11 racquetball & handball courts, gym facilities with a full complement of cardio machines, Cybex circuit, free weights, and universal equipment, over 70 aerobics/exercise classes every week, a full outdoor basketball court and ½ shooting court, 2 jacuzzis, a steam room and sauna, personal training, professional massage therapy, a pro shop, full restaurant and bar, hair salon, summer camps, and more. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys sales, has excellent communication skills, and is passionate about helping others achieve their fitness goals.
Responsibilities:
The Membership Sales Representative is responsible for developing leads for prospective members, providing information to prospective members, and promoting and selling memberships. This person also assists management in meeting membership and financial objectives. This person aids current and prospective members daily while maintaining the TRFC’s highest standards of customer service.
- Actively develop leads for prospective members.
- Respond to telephone and email inquiries and book and maintain appointments for prospective members to tour the facilities.
- Provide prospective members with enthusiastic and informative tours.
- Empower and educate prospective members on the benefits of health and wellness.
- Present all current membership options and prices to prospective members.
- Complete all membership paperwork for new members, including application, waivers, and orientation requirements.
- Follow up with all prospective members who failed to show for their appointments and/or guests who have not yet enrolled.
- Track and report all daily membership sales and appointments.
- Distribute passes, fliers, and other materials to create traffic flow of prospective members.
- Promote the club during special events such as Open Houses and Friday Night BBQs.
- Develop relationships with current members and encourage member referrals.
- Generate leads for Corporate Sales to help open new accounts.
- Provide ongoing maintenance for existing corporate accounts including regular contact with Corporate Ambassadors and distribution of passes and information.
- Ensure accurate submission of commission logs for each pay period, including required paperwork.
- Administer emergency care to members and guests in need of assistance.
- Work as a TEAM with all other departments.
- Assist current members with any membership changes and hold or cancellation requests.
- Assist new and current members with their monthly statements and other billing questions.
- Aid in the set up of new and current members in the online portal and app.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all programs and activities offered throughout the club.
- Promote club services and activities to new and existing members.
- Assist with keeping the club well-stocked and clean.
- Handle injury, illness, and incident reporting as well as club suggestions and/or complaints.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Essential Skills:
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, strong interpersonal skills, phone etiquette, and basic computer skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with both members and staff in a customer service oriented environment.
- Dedication to the fitness and wellness industry.
- Must be detail oriented, organized, and results oriented with the ability to multitask.
- Must be AED/CPR/First Aid Certified or able to acquire certification within the first 30 days of employment.
- Ability to take the responsibility of the health and safety of others.
- Ability to stand for several hours in the same shift (if needed), and the ability to lift 25lbs.
- Must follow OSHA and Active Wellness safety standards.
