The California Conservation Corps Delta Center in Stockton has immediate non-residential openings for Corpsmembers to train in wildland firefighting. Corpsmembers will live at home and commute to the center each day for work.
CCC wildland firefighting Corpsmembers train and work with CCC and CAL FIRE staff and respond as initial attack hand crews on wildfires in Calaveras, San Joaquin, and Tuolumne counties. A year in the CCC can lead to careers in fire service.
You must be 18-25 years old or military veteran 29 or younger to enroll in the program. Benefits include:

Work with CAL FIRE on wildland firefighting hand crews and gain the experience needed to launch a career in fire service. Corpsmembers regularly go on to careers with USFS, CAL FIRE, Bureau of Land Management, city and county fire departments, as well as State Parks, Caltrans, and other local community agencies.
Shift times and length may vary by assignment, but the program is a 40-hour per week commitment.
