BEMED is welcoming applications from Psy.D. and Ph.D. candidates who have completed or are nearing completion of their doctoral degree and are seeking postdoctoral hours towards licensure. This unique opportunity is for motivated individuals who are interested in developing a career in the field of medical psychology. Medical psychology is the psychological specialty at the nexus of psychology and medicine. Medical psychologists work in medical facilities, providing psychological evaluation and treatment to patients with comorbid psychological and medical conditions. At Ibemed, psychological associates are trained in the field of medical psychology through Ibemed's medical psychology residency. This is one of the only medical psychology residencies in the country. Medical psychology residency training sessions cover the following areas:
- Ethics and law
- Therapeutic approaches
- Neurocognitive evaluations
- Neuroscience
- Diagnostics
- Physiology
- Pathophysiology
- Pharmacology
- Psychopharmacology
- Research
Qualifications:
- Ph.D or Psy.D (or nearing completion of doctoral program)
- Previous experience in a clinical setting
- Interest in building a career in the field of medical psychology
- Ability to be self-directed and work collaboratively with a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual psychotherapy services to patients on an outpatient basis utilizing evidenced based treatment approaches
- Complete psychometric testing
- Write progress notes for each therapy session
- Attend twice weekly group didactic residency trainings
- Attend weekly individual clinical care meetings
- Travel to clinics throughout Southern California is required for this position
Ibemed is a professional psychological corporation that provides integrated medical psychology services within multiple medical facilities. We provide services in clinics throughout Southern California (Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties).
Travel to the below clinics is required for this position. The psychological associate goes to one clinic each day. Clinic locations can be adjusted due to patient need.
- Monday: La Mirada
- Tuesday: Los Angeles
- Wednesday: Colton
- Thursday: Long Beach
- Friday: Corona
Psychological Associate Pay and Benefits:
Salary: $100,000 per year
