Summary
AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking a Human Resources Manager with broad knowledge and experience in the full suite of human resources functions to join our team at our Cambridge, Ohio facility. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for all aspects of human resources including talent acquisition/recruiting, labor/employee relations, benefit administration, training and onboarding, policy/procedure development and compliance.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead by example and comply with all AMG V safety and environmental requirements and Company policies and procedures, including AMG's Code of Business Conduct
- Embrace and promote the AMG V culture in all day-to-day activities; foster and promote a positive, respectful work environment that is aligned with AMG's Values
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor and employment laws; serve as liaison with inside and outside legal counsel as needed
- Support operating unit by developing and executing employee/labor relations initiatives; coach and counsel management and production employees for improved performance
- Serve as business partner for site leadership and department heads; provide counsel and support as needed
- Demonstrate serving leadership principles and strong customer service focus when responding to employees' needs
- Serve as gatekeeper of Company culture; build trust and positive relations with employees and leadership
- Develop site talent acquisition/recruiting strategy and marketing plan; execute hiring plan and pre-employment process for new management and production team members
- Develop and refine policies and procedures for site as required; ensure alignment with Company policies; implement and administer policies and procedures
- Serve as primary Union contract administrator ensuring contract compliance; document employee grievances, conduct investigations, and assist leadership in disciplinary matters as required
- Work in partnership with internal stakeholders to develop and facilitate training programs that meet cultural, leadership, operational, technical, and compliance requirements
- Serve as primary benefit administrator for all benefit programs and plans including medical, dental, vision, retirement, COBRA, STD/LTD, and life insurance; evaluate current programs/plans and make recommendations for improvement; serve as liaison with benefit suppliers and negotiate contracts; lead open enrollment process for employees
- Assist in development of employee wellness program and activities
- Lead site talent management process; train, coach, and support site leadership
- Measure and evaluate employee morale and satisfaction; develop action plans to address key opportunity areas for improvement
- Assist HR team in planning and coordinating employee events and other Company events
- Develop and maintain HR KPIs and reports
- Responsible for general correspondence to workforce; must ensure accuracy, clarity, and quality of all correspondence
- Responsible for Human Resources Information System and confidential records and documentation
- Participate in local human resource professional organizations
Qualifications/Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human resource management preferred
- SHRM CP or PHR or SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred
- Minimum of five years' experience in human resources
- Experience with multi-faceted talent acquisition/recruiting strategies, including social media platforms
- Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local labor and employment laws
- Union labor relations experience strongly preferred
- Benefit administration experience strongly preferred
- Training facilitation experience desired
- Advanced knowledge and experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Must possess a serving leadership mindset and strong customer service skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills
- Ability to handle data with confidentiality
