Fox & Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Survey Party Chiefs to join our Hagerstown & Frederick, MD offices as well as our Greencastle, PA office to work on a variety of projects for clients within the public and private development sectors. Typical projects involve all aspects of land surveying for residential, mixed-use, commercial, and industrial site development, as well as municipal projects.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification or degree in surveying or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Proven experience as a Survey Party Chief or similar role.
- Experience performing field boundary, topographic, land title surveys, and construction staking.
- Be responsive and able to perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment.
- Well-developed understanding of field survey methods and calculations.
- Ability to operate Topcon and Carlson GPS equipment., Leica and Sokkia robotic survey instruments, and other relative survey equipment.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Carlson, and related software.
- Excellent cooperative skills and working efficiently with a team.
- Strong skills in communication, time management, organization, and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Responsibilities
1. Travel to and from job sites.
- Conduct field surveys, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, and control network establishment either individually or with a team.
- Set up and operate surveying instruments to measure distances, angles, elevations, and contours.
- Ensure accurate collection and recording of field survey data using various surveying equipment and technologies, such as total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors.
- Prepare and review survey reports, maps, and drawings to present survey findings to project manager.
- Maintain survey equipment and ensure it is in proper working condition by conducting regular inspections and calibrations.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations while performing surveying tasks to ensure the well-being of the survey team and other workers on-site.
- Maintain accurate and organized survey records, including field notes, sketches, and data files, for future reference and project documentation.
- Stay updated with the latest surveying techniques, technologies, and industry best practices to continuously improve surveying processes.
