Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Recreation Aide to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with diverse populations and creating engaging recreational activities.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible to assist in planning, organizing, implementing a program of therapeutic activities designed to meet the social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational and physical needs and interests of residents
- Works closely with residents, family members, volunteers, and facility staff.
- Encourages residents’ participation in activities that enhance their quality andappreciation for life
- Sorts and distributes resident incoming mail
- Clerical work and other tasks as assigned
- Greets new residents and introduces them to other residents, as well as plannedactivities
- Informs all residents of upcoming events and activities
- Escorts residents on outings to ensure proper supervision and interaction
- Immediately reports any incidents involving residents, coworkers and equipment
- Participates in all activities, communicates and interact with all residents
- Attends department staff meetings
- Attends all required orientation and inservice training
- Participates in Emergency Preparedness procedures
- Maintains a thorough working knowledge of and adheres to facility policies,regulations and procedures
- Keeps immediate supervisor well-informed of activities, results of efforts andproblems identified/potential problems; recommends corrective actions toimmediate supervisor
- Maintains confidentiality in discussing resident, staff, volunteers and organizational matters
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, basic math skills
- Ability to provide activities that meet physical, mental and psychosocial needs of theresident
- Ability to maintain productivity in a busy environment
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
- The ability to take direction and learn required program activities

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.10 - $18.50 per hour
Expected hours: 37.50 per week
