JOB SUMMARY:
Fancypants is a vegetable-forward, upscale dining concept opening this summer in East Nashville. We value community and hospitality above all else - extending it to our customers, co-workers, suppliers, and neighbors. We're seeking prep cooks to join our opening team.
We're looking for cooks who share a passion for food, have a strong work ethic and work well as a team. Prep cooks at Fancypants are responsible for prepping for service, assisting with set up of assigned station, cooking and plating dishes, and closing/cleaning properly. The ideal candidate must be consistent and possess the ability to prioritize and follow direction. Success is based on being a great team player, having strong organizational skills and a passion for creating excellent food. This team will be very small and will work directly with our CDC and Sous Chefs.
REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays; Fancypants will be open Thursday to Sunday for dinner service
- Solid understanding of fundamentals of cooking and advanced knife skills
- Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling best practices
- Knowledge of equipment and procedures used in restaurant kitchens
- Constant standing, walking, bending
- Occasional kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing ladders, and carrying of up to 50lbs
