Overview
We are seeking an Expediter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in regulatory reporting, and compliance management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the plan check and clearance process for development projects, ensuring all required permits and approvals are obtained in a timely manner.
- Prepare and submit permit applications, plans, and other required documentation to relevant city, county, and state agencies.
- Track the status of permit applications and clearances, addressing any issues or delays promptly to avoid project setbacks.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other consultants to ensure all plans and documents meet regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and governmental agencies, facilitating communication and resolving any issues that arise.
- Conduct thorough reviews of plans and documents to ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and other applicable standards.
- Maintain detailed records of all permit applications, approvals, and correspondence with agencies.
- Provide regular updates to project managers and clients on the status of permit applications and clearances.
- Stay informed about changes in building codes, regulations, and permitting processes to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Urban Planning, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in permit expediting, plan check coordination, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and the permitting process in Los Angeles and California.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Experience with electronic permit submittal systems and processes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
